LEG State Development Corporation Thüringen

The State Development Corporation Thüringen is a one hundred percent subsidiary of the Free State of Thuringia. Set up in 1992, it now performs tasks in the field of real estate management, the development of local sites and economic promotion.LEG Thüringen has its headquarters in Erfurt and operates all over the state of Thuringia.

The LEG cleans up and develops sites that were formerly used for industrial or military purposes and puts them on the market. This real estate is then primarily used for commercial purposes again; but it is also possible to use them as residential areas or restore them to their natural state. LEG not only markets old sites that have been redeveloped, but also other real estate, including building land for residential purposes, which it develops and then sells to individuals.

As a recognised urban modernisation agency LEG also supports local communities in urban development work and plays a role in the regional cooperation between towns, villages and rural districts in Thuringia. As business development corporation LEG advertises the state of Thuringia as an area for investments. It attracts investors from Germany and abroad to the Free State and offers companies’ free services like providing local advice and managing contacts with public bodies.

By making use of its internal “Entrepreneur and Specialist Service in Thuringia (UFas)”, LEG helps companies meet their needs for specialist staff. It also looks after technology clusters in the Free State and supports Thuringia companies in their foreign business.
